The government on Tuesday withdrew the suspension order of Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, four months after the former bridges division secretary was released on bail on February 5 in a Padma bridge corruption allegation case.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued an order in this regard and attached him with the ministry as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Mosharraf was arrested on December 26 last year and sent to jail in the Padma bridge corruption allegation case. He was then executive chairman of Economic Zone Authority at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Sources in the public administration ministry said suspension of an officer can be withdrawn if he or she remains in bail and charge is not pressed against them.
The corruption allegation case is now under investigation of Anti-Corruption Commission.
“I am very happy that the government has withdrawn my suspension order. I will join as an OSD at the public administration ministry,” Mosharraf told The Daily Star on Tuesday night.
He expected that the government would soon give him posting so that he could join his service and end his career in a decent way.
