  1. Corruption in Bangladesh has been the rule of the day. Nothing, no-thing can be expected without corruption and the law of Bangladesh regarding corruption is so weak and abstract that it hardly inflicts anyone with even a pinch unless the govt wants. That’s why the ring leader of corruption gets clean chit from the ACC and the PM calls him ‘patriot’. What a ridiculous joke it is that unless bribery is ‘proved’, no charge of corruption can be brought against anyone. Well, do the giver and taker gives/receives any receipt of bribe? And look, the system is so that a file can be stopped at any table for indefinite time without showing any reason whatsoever and the official concerned does never have to account for his intentional delay in disposing the file. One interesting slogan is very often heard: Extorting money at the point of a gun is no worse than extorting money by withholding a file. And this is the system which no govt has ever taken any step to change. The British left us long ago but the ‘red tape brigade’ left by them is very much active as well as popular to the govts irrespective of party. The brazen proof of corruption is the cracks/collapse of buildings and other infrastructures only1-3 years after construction. Roads, bridges and culverts sag, crack, collapse sooner than that but no supervising officer or contractor has ever been brought to book for this open plundering of public money. People helplessly watch how substandard materials are used in the construction and concerned bills are paid in advance. In fact the money so far spent for various development works amounts 5/6 times more than necessary only because 65%-75% of the cost is eaten up midway by concerned people. We common people are just victims of vampires who rule us.
