The Opposition has set a deadline of 5pm, Thursday for the government to meet its demands, failing which it threatened to launch a tougher movement.
BNP spokesperson Salauddin Ahmed issued the warning in a video message on Wednesday, the fifth day of the Opposition-backed 131-hour blockade.
It has been enforcing the blockade demanding cancellation of elections schedule and withdrawal of cases against party leaders.
The blockade will end at 5pm on Thursday.
In the video message, sent to the media from an undisclosed location, the BNP Joint Secretary General said, “I would like to tell the Prime Minister that there is still time. Suspend schedule for the one-sided elections. Give up the path of confrontation for the sake of the nation.”

He said if their demands were not met by the stipulated time frame they would intensify the movement.
The blockade started at 6am on Saturday and was supposed to end at 6am on Tuesday, but later it was extended by 59 hours to protest filing of cases against BNP senior leaders and arrest of party Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
The Opposition called the first spell of 71-hour blockade last week.
Over 40 people have died across the country in violence during the back-to-back blockade.
