A four-member delegation of BNP sat with the envoys of different western and European Union countries at a city hotel Monday to discuss the ongoing political impasses centring the poll-time government.
The restoration of the caretaker government system and anti-government movement of the opposition parties may come up for the discussion which is going on at Hotel Heritage in Gulshan of the capital from 2:45pm, a source of the main opposition BNP told The Daily Star.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, acting secretary general of the party, who is leading the delegation also may discuss about the outcome of the letter that US Secretary of State John Kerry sent to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday.
Kerry also sent another letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the same day.
In the letters, Kerry asked both the political archrivals to hold a constructive dialogue without wasting any more time to decide on the poll-time government.
BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and two advisers to the BNP chairperson–Osman Faruk and Reaz Rahman– are the other members of the delegation.
