Police have arrested the car driver of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in Narayanganj seven-murder case, from a village of Chandina upazila in Comilla early Wednesday.
The arrestee is Zubayer Hossain, 33.
Chandina police station Officer-in-Charge Golam Morshed said: “Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Zubayer from a house during a raid at Belashwar village in the upazila around 3am.”
Zubayer Hossain went into hiding after the Narayanganj seven-murder incident on April 27.
Nur Hossain, a Narayanganj city Awami League leader and also a councilor, was arrested from an apartment in Kolkata on the night of June 14.
Earlier on April 27, NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted. Later, their bodies were recovered from Shitalaykha River on April 30.
Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against Nur on April 28.
