State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday said there is no bases of Jama’atul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB) or any existence of militant organisations in Bangladesh.

“Bangladesh is always against terrorism and it will allow none to use our land in conducting militant or terrorist activities on its soil against it or the neighbouring friendly country of India,” he said.

The state minister came up with this while responding various questions asked by the local journalists on the zero line at Banglabandha Land Port (BLP) under Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh when he returned there after visiting Fulbari BSF Camp on the other side in India.

He said India has not yet officially informed Bangladesh about nationality of the two persons killed in blasts while preparing bombs in Burdwan district of West Bengal as published recently in the media.

Answering to another question, the state minister informed that talks are continuing at the government levels with India and Nepal for starting immigration facilities through the BLP as soon as possible.

Earlier, the state minister entered into India through the BLP to visit Fulbari Camp of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) when Shiliguri BSF Sector deputy inspector general Shree Akhil Dixit warmly welcomed him.

Member of the Parliament (MP) from Panchagrh-2 constituency Nurul Islam Shujan and former Awami League Lawmaker from Panchagrh-1 constituency Mozaharul Haque Pradhan accompanied him.

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) Rangpur regional commander Brigadier General Latiful Haider, its Thakurgaon sector commander Colonel Akramul Haque, acting deputy inspector general of Rangpur Range Humayun Kabir, Panchagarh deputy commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin and Police Super Abul Kalam Azad were present.

The state minister said discussions were held on the common border issues between Bangladesh and India with the high ranking BGB and BSF officials during his visit to Fulbari BSF Camp.

He said both of the border security forces would conduct their duties in a friendly atmosphere for ensuring peace and tranquility along the common borders and the BSF side assured of not using deadly weapons on borders during the discussions.

“Bangladesh and India have excellent friendly relations, no disagreement on land boundary issue and the BGB and BSF have been resolving any border issue through flag meeting when and where needed,” he said.

Earlier in the morning, Asaduzzaman Khan visited Banglabandha BGB border outpost when Commnading Officer of Panchagarh 18 BGB Battalion Lt Colonel Mohammad Ariful Haque apprised him about the overall BGB activities there.

Later, the state minister formally inaugurated the newly-built buildings of Bhajanpur Highway Police Camp in Tentulia upazila, Moidandighee Highway Police Camp and Boda Thana under Boda upazila.

In the afternoon, he attended a colourful ceremony arranged for observing the 125th founding anniversary of Boda Pilot School and College at its ground in Boda upazila as the chief guest to end his daylong programmes in the sub-Himalayan district.
