Biswal will arrive in Dhaka in the afternoon to participate in the two-day fourth annual partnership dialogue between Bangladesh and the United States (US), started in city on Thursday.
Nisha Biswal will also hold meetings with foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali and high-ups of the ministry at 12:00pm of Friday (May 1). She will also meet the civil society members.
Sources said the visiting envoy would discuss about enduring political situation of the country.
Meanwhile, the two-day fourth annual partnership dialogue between Bangladesh and the US has kicked off at the state guest house ‘Meghna’ in city from 10:00am of Thursday.
Bangladesh foreign ministry director general Mahfuzur Rahman and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Steven Feldstein led the first day’s meeting of programming committee.
However, Bangladesh foreign secretary M Shahidul Haque and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R Sherman are set to lead their respective sides in the dialogue of plenary session, to be held on Friday (May 1) morning.
Later, Shahidul Haque will attend a bilateral meeting with Sherman at state guest house ‘Padma’ at 11:00am.
The dialogue has been held annually since 2012 to strengthen the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the US.
Sources said the different issues including development and good governance, trade and investment, and security cooperation will be discussed in the dialogue.
