Nayeem Hasan remained instrumental with bat and ball, helping his side Prime Bank beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by three wickets in their Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League under lights at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Off-spinner Nayeem’s three for 24 in his four overs alongside Monir Hossain’s miserly figures of two for 15 helped Prime Bank restrict Shinepukur to 119.

Skipper Towhid Hridoy’s 25-ball 29 was the top score for Shinepukur.

Following the exchange, despite losing skipper Anamul Haque in the second over, Prime Bank got off to a good start, thanks to a 52-run second-wicket stand between Tamim Iqbal and Rony Talukdar. Unfortunately, Tamim saw his 27-ball 32-run knock, laced with four boundaries and a maximum, come to an end when he was made run-out in the eighth over.

After Tamim’s dismissal, Prime Bank lost five wickets in space of just 28 deliveries, adding just 21 runs on the board as they were left struggling at 89 for seven after 13 overs.

Nayeem (18 off 16) and Raqibul Hasan (18 off 34) both remained unbeaten as they lifted their side from a precarious situation and helped secure a victory with three balls to spare.
