Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim on Monday joined the protest against the lynching of minor boy Samiul Alam Rajon in Sylhet.
Musfiq posted a photo in his official facebook page urging all to say no to child abuse.
‘There can never be a worse crime than abusing an innocent child to death. Say no to child abuse!’ he said in the post.
A group of youths beat Rajon, 13, who used to sell vegetables in the city, to death at Sheikhpara under Tukerbazar, suspecting him to be a thief on July 8.
Police on Sunday recovered a video clip of the appalling scene of murdering the boy.
Local people later caught Muhith Alam, 22, of Sheikhpara after chasing him and three others from a place at Kumargaon in the city, when they were trying to dump the body of Rajan at a remote place.
A Sylhet metropolitan magistrate court on Monday placed Muhith Alam on five-day police interrogation in the murder case.
