Fahima Islam Lopa, a close associate of slain HM Zahid Siddique alias Tarek, the prime killer of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky, on Sunday confessed before a Dhaka court to her involvement in the killing plot.
Lopa, 25, also wife of Milky’s driver and close associate Maruf Reza Sagar, made confessional statement in the morning.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan recorded the statement when Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) assistant director Kazi Kajamur Rahman produced her before his court at about 11am.
Milky, organising secretary of Dhaka city (South) unit of Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, was gunned down by his close associate Tarek, who was also the joint secretary of the unit, in front of Shoppers World at Gulshan in the city early Tuesday.
In her statement, Lopa said Tarek, Tipu and Arif had planned much earlier to kill Milky as they considered him as a thorn in their dominance in Motijheeel area. Tarek himself told her that.
She said she told Tarek around 11:30pm on Monday that Milky was going to Gulshan and later they killed him in front of Shoppers World there.
Lopa also told the court that she developed a relation with Tarek one and a half years ago.
Describing Tarek as a very cunning person, she said he never trusted anyone and could do anything for his self interest.
Earlier, on Saturday, the elite force arrested Lopa from the city’s Dhanmondi area.
Soon after the killing, Rab arrested prime killer Tarek from a hospital at Uttara in the early hours of Tuesday.
Later, they arrested six other killer suspects–– Nuruzzaman Saidul, Tuhin Rahman Fahim, Mohammad Jahangir, Rashed Mahmud, Mohammad Sujan Hawladar and Syed Mostofa Ali. All of them were taken on a seven-day police remand on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Tarek and another suspected terrorist Shah Alam were killed in a ‘shootout’ with Rab members at Khilkhet in the city on Wednesday night.
