Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza on Thursday received a perfect reward for his consistent success in one-day international cricket as he moved up to the ninth spot in the ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings.
The declaration came a day after when the Tigers’ captain and key pacer touched a unique milestone of becoming top ODI wicket-taker for Bangladesh.
Mashrafe, who bagged a total of 216 wickets in his 166-ODI career, is followed by ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (215).
Mashrafe has topped the list getting wickets of England captain Jos Buttler and all-rounder Moeen Ali in the series decider of the just-concluded Bangladesh-England ODI series, at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday.
In the three-match series against England, Mashrafe was the second highest wicket-taker bagging a total of 8 wickets, only to England spinner Adil Rashid.
In past 22 matches, he claimed 33 wickets.
