Maritime ports asked to hoist signal 3
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. 3 as squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, reports UNB.
“Under the influence of frequent thunderstorm activity, squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” said a met office bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to
proceed with caution until further notice.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
