Khulna Titans skipper Mahmudullah bagged three wickets in the last over as his team dramatically defeated Rajshahi Kings by 3 runs in their Bangladesh Premier League match on Wednesday.
The Kings needed seven runs in the last over, but they were baffled by Mahmudullah’s bowling. Chasing 134, they were dealt early blows when Junaid Khan struck thrice in quick succession to leave Rajshahi at 24 for 3.
However, Mominul’s 64 off 57 balls and skipper Darren Sammy’s 31 in 23 deliveries almost guided Rajshahi to victory. But after Shafiul Islam removed the duo in the 18th over, it was anybody’s game. Junaid gave away six in the next over, picking up Farhad Reza’s wicket and it came down to last over that was ruled by the Khulna captain, Mahmudullah.
Batting first, the Titans could not make more than 133 because of a dominant Abul Hasan, who bagged five wickets.
Mahmudullah and Riki Wessels both made 32 to help their team post a decent total.
The Khulna captain was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
