A Narayanganj court has granted Rapid Action Battalion seven days to grill Yusuf Hossain Liton for the second time over the murder of Tanveer Mohammad Twaki.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Jabid Hossain passed the order on Monday after RAB-11 official Rabiul Islam moved court with a 12-day remand plea.
Liton had already recorded his statement in the case on Jul 29 under Section 164.
RAB last on Wednesday recovered a pair of blood-stained trousers from the office of MP Nasim Osman’s son Azmeri Osman in Narayanganj.
Azmeri is the nephew of Awami League leader Shamim Osman.
Twaki was the son of Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha unit organiser Rafiur Rabbi.
Twaki’s body was found in the Shitalakkhya River in Narayanganj on Mar 8 – two days after he went missing.
His father had filed a murder case that night.
Rafiur Rabbi had submitted a written complaint to the Narayanganj SP on Mar 18, accusing seven people of being involved in his son’s murder.
They include former MP Shamim Osman, his son Ayon Osman and expelled Publicity and Publication Secretary of the district Juba League Zahirul Islam Parvez alias ‘Kangaroo Parvez’.
Initially, police began probing the case but later the High Court ordered its transfer to RAB.
