As part of their planned mass campaign to create a ground for a decisive movement to force the government to hold a fresh election, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will visit two districts — Nilphamari and Natore — this month.
The BNP chief will resume her district-level mass campaign through her tour of Nilphamari on October 23, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB on Friday.
He said the BNP chief will start her journey from her Gulshan residence for the northern district of Nilphamari on October 22 and stay overnight at Bogra Circuit House.
Later, she will start her journey for Nilphamari from Bogra the following day and address a public rally at the Pourasava Ground in the afternoon.
The BNP-led 20-party alliance will arrange the rally demanding the immediate resignation of Hasina’s cabinet clearing the path for holding a fresh election under a non-party administration.
Khaleda will also visit Natore on October 30 and address a public rally there to be organised by the local unit of the 20-party alliance, Sayrul said.
However, Natore district BNP president Advocate Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu said the BNP chief is likely to visit the district any day in between October 25 and October 30.
Khaleda will also likely to visit Comilla, Kishoreganj and Chittagong in November, BNP sources said.
Top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance at a meeting on September 30 finalised a countrywide mass campaign programme for launching following the Eid-ul-Azha to mobilise public support in favour of their demand for holding a fresh election under a non-party administration.
