A day after a crucial meeting with her party’s policymakers, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is going to sit with top leaders of her party-led 20-party alliance on Monday night to finalise their next line of action.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at 8:30pm.
Party sources said the BNP chief at the meeting with the 20-party leaders is likely to take approval of some soft line of action programmes like demonstration and rally worked out by BNP policymakers to force the government to arrange the next polls under a non-party caretaker administration.
Earlier on Sunday night, she had an over two-hour long meeting with BNP standing committee members. But there was no formal disclosure about the meeting outcome.
A BNP standing committee member, whishing not to be named, said they at the meeting chalked out two programmes to be observed by the alliance.
As per the plan, the 20-party alliance will stage countrywide demonstrations on August 19 demanding the government scrap the National Broadcast Policy, 2014.
The alliance will also hold a silent procession with black flags all over the country on August 16 to register their protest against Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.
He, however, said the programme will be finalised on Monday at the meeting of the top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
