Kazi Zafar meets Khaleda
Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday recited from the Quran and offered fatiha at the graveside of her youngest son Arafat Rahman Koko at Banani graveyard in the capital.
Khaleda burst into tears as she came to the grave of Koko around 5:50pm.
A pall of gloom descended at the place when Khaleda, along with members of her family including her younger brother’s wife Kaniz Fatema, burst into tears.
The party leaders and activists also took part in the prayer seeking divine blessings for the departed soul of Koko.
Koko died in Malaysia on January 24 and was laid to rest at Banani graveyard on January 27.
Khaleda bade final farewell to Koko when his body was taken to her Gulshan office for an hour before nama-j-e-janaza and burial. Khaleda had been staying at her Gulshan office since January 3.
A good number of leaders and activists of BNP including Moudud Ahmed, Mahbubur Rahman, Jamiruddin Sircar, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Selima Rahman, Khandker Mahbub Hossain, Sabihuddin Ahmed, Mahbubuddin Khokon, Shama Obaid, among others, took part in offering fatiha.
After more than three months on Sunday Khaleda came out of her office to appear before court and returned to her house at Gulshan from the court.
Khaleda’ started her day’s programme on Monday through offering fatiha at Koko’s graveside.
BNP chairperson Khaleda came to her house around 6:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Jatiya Party faction chairman Kazi Zafar Ahmed along with his party’s secretary general Mostafa Zamal Haider met Khaleda at her Gulshan house in the evening.
