Kamal writes to PM for dialogue again
Dr Kamal Hossain, a top leader of newly formed political alliance Oikyafront, today sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina requesting her to hold dialogue with the alliance once again.
In the letter, Dr Kamal informed the PM about Oikyafront’s request to the election commission not to declare polls schedule until the dialogues end.
Oikyafront said this in a letter to the EC yesterday.
Earlier on November 1, a 20-member delegation of the Oikyafront led by Dr Kamal, president of Gono Forum, held a dialogue with Awami League-led 14-party alliance at Gono Bhaban in a congenial atmosphere.
Sheikh Hasina led a 23-member delegation at the talks.
Thanking the premier for holding the talks, Dr Kamal, in today’s letter, said that the discussions at their first meeting remained incomplete.
“So, we are eager to sit for another dialogue to complete the discussion urgently,” the letter adds.
A three-member delegation consisting of Gono Forum leaders — AHM Shafiq Ullah, Jaglul Haider Afrik and Mostak Ahmed — took the letter to the AL president’s office in Dhanmondi.
The Awami League officially received the letter.
