Eminent jurist and constitution expert Dr M Zahir passed away on Thursday at the age of 74.
Zahir, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed his last at Bangkok General Hospital in Thailand around 10:30am (Bangladesh time).
He was admitted to the hospital on June 27, Advocate Shafiqur Rahman, a junior associate of Zahir, told The Daily Star.
The body will be flown to Bangladesh on Friday, Shafiq said.
His cancer was first detected in Bangkok in 2011.
The noted lawyer is survived by his wife and a son.
Zahir was enrolled as a High Court lawyer in 1962. He became a senior lawyer in 1978.
