The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence Ministry said on Monday that the country’s ongoing political crisis can effectively be resolved through dialogue.
At its 23rd meeting at the Parliament Bhaban, the Standing Committee members recommended maintaining the constitutional process of the country at any cost.
The committee members discussed the progress on the investigation into an ‘evil-attempt to overthrow the government’ and stressed that the conspirators involved in it must be traced as soon as possible.
The chiefs of the three services and high-ups of the Defence Ministry and relevant agencies were also present at the meeting.
Presided over by Standing Committee chairman Idris Ali, the meeting was attended, among others, by its members HM Ershad, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Manjur Quader Quraishi and Prime Minister’s representative MA Mannan.
