Jatiya Party (Ershad), one of the key partners of the Awami League-led grand alliance government, has started a process to select candidates for the crucial coming national polls, which is likely to be completed in a month.
The Jatiya Party held a meeting at its Banani office on Tuesday with party chairman HM Ershad in the chair, party sources said.
The meeting discussed current political scenario and laid emphasis on the party’s stance in the coming polls, apart from selection of suitable candidates.
Party presidium member Mostafa Jamal Haider has been given the responsibility of coordinating the nominations and submit a report to the party chairman within a month.
Jatiya Party leaders Begum Rowshan Ershad, Kazi Zafar Ahmed, Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi Chowdhury, GM Quader, ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, Mujibur Rahman, M Abul Kashem, MA Hannan, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, M Golam Habib Dulal, Karim Uddin Bhorosa, Prof Delwar Hossain Khan and Masud Parves Sohel Rana were, among others, present.
