Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has said the construction work of a world standard Hi-Tech Park will begin at Kaliakoir in Gazipur district soon.
“The tender for building the park will be floated this month,” he said at a view exchange meeting after visiting the site on Wednesday.
Joy, who is also the IT advisor to the prime minister, said all kinds of modern facilities would be available in the park, which is to be built on nearly 350 acres of land.
He said the present government has taken the initiative to start the park again as the legal issues have settled down.
The government has acquired more 100 acres of land for the park. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had started the initial work of the park with 232 acres of land in 1999, but the starting of the park was delayed due to some legal issues, he added.
