In a scathing attack on Prime Minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy for calling their party a terrorist outfit, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said he talks like his mother as he is swirling around Awami culture.
“Joy is swirling around Awami League’s old culture. He’s talking like his mother, not like his father,” he said.
Rizvi came up with the remarks at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office at a press conference on the 18-party’s 84-hour hartal.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sajeeb Wazed Joy said BNP is not a political party but a terrorist organisation. “BNP doesn’t belong to human race. It’s not a political party…it’s a terrorist outfit,” he told reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after visiting the patients of its burn unit, who suffered burn injuries during the shutdown enforced by BNP.
Reacting to the remarks, Rizvi said, “We could think he has made a one-step progress and take his comments into consideration, if he followed his renowned scientist father late Dr Wazed Miah.”
“As he is talking like his mother… what he saying is nothing but nurturing the Awami League’s political culture. I don’t want to say anything more in this regard,” he added.
The BNP leader also said as he is the son of the Prime Minister, the country’s people want to hear something constructive from which will be from the country’s existing political culture.
Mentioning that Joy used to talk about ‘Digital Bangladesh’ and modern technologies, Rizvi said but it seems reverse when he makes political comments and speaks about the opposition.
Earlier in the day, talking to reporters at the BNP office, Rizvi also came down hard on Joy, for his recent comments that no one will be spared, saying: “Who is he (Joy) not to spare anyone? Is he the country’s sole owner?”
The BNP joint secretary general further said: “He (Joy) studied abroad… we had thought there’ll be an impression of developed culture in his speeches. We don’t get any such evidence in his speech. He rather speaks like a landlord’s son (zaminder).”

He (Joy or whatever) is a nobody in Bangladesh politics and should not be given the importance he does not deserve. Just ignore…. this new clown of the Bangladeshi political circus. The old clown is” the HM Ershad.”
