Journalists formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital Monday morning demanding immediate arrest of Awami League lawmaker Golam Maula Rony for attacking two newsmen of Independent Television.
The newsmen from print and electronic media also declared Rony an enemy of media.
Rony beat up Imtiaz Momin and Mohsin Mukul, reporter and cameraperson of Independent Television, at his Topkhana Road office in the capital on July 20.
Imtiaz and Mohsin are members of a team that produces a crime-investigative show, Talash, for the TV channel. They had gone there after receiving information that the lawmaker would receive a bribe of more than Tk 1 crore sent from Patuakhali.
