Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has changed its logo eight years after the party had become ‘Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’ from ‘Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh.’
The party is now sending press releases with its new logo although the party is yet to make any official statement regarding the change.
The party was renamed Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in 2008 to get registered as a political party with the election commission.
Identical to the colour of Bangladesh’s flag, the new logo is illustrated with red and green colour. Bangladesh is written on red portion and Jamaat-e-Islami is written on green portion of the logo.
Jamaat’s earlier version of logo was illustrated in green colour with its election symbol Scale inscribed on it. The new logo did not include scale.
This correspondent tried in vain to communicate with M Alam, a press wing official of the party who signed in the press release as he did not pick the phone.
