India has assured Bangladesh that it will hand back Narayanganj 7-Murder accused Nur Hossain through legal procedures, Home Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan has said.
He has also added that Bangladesh agreed to return United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) leader Anup Chetiya to India.
Following a meeting with his Indian counterpart at a Dhaka hotel on Wednesday, Mozammel Haque said earlier Anup Chetiya had sought political asylum to Bangladesh, but later wished to go back to India. So, Bangladesh expressed its interest to the wish of India’s separatist leader.
Home secretary Mozammel Haque Khan held a home secretary-level meeting with his Indian counterpart Anil Goshwami in the morning.
Mozammel Haque also told reporters that Anil Goshwami assured him of handing of the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, if anyone of them had taken shelter on Indian land.
The two parties also discussed border killings. Mozammel Haque, in this regard, said border killings had reduced, but India was asked to bring the number to zero.
