The income-tax returns filing deadline has been extended by a month for individual tax payers.
Those who are yet to file their tax returns can now do so within Nov 30, National Board of Revenue (NBR) spokesperson Syed Mumen said on Sunday.
The extension has been granted as many tax-payers were not able to collect the tax-filing papers due to Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja holidays, Mumen said.
Appeals from various organizations, including the FBCCI, also influenced the decision, he said.
The earlier cut-off was Sept 28, which was postponed to Nov 2 after the first extension, although the income-tax ordinance states that returns must be filed by Sept 30.
The deadline last year was finally fixed for Dec 31 after several extensions.
