Gonojagoron Moncho, a youth platform which was formed protesting war crimes convict Abdul Quader Mollah’s life term imprisonment, may form a political party in future.

Imran said: “The movement of Gonojagoron Moncho is going ahead in three ways simultaneously. It is a political movement, it is a social movement and it is a cultural movement.”
“Time will say in which way the movement will move forward, where the movement will end in future.”
“We cannot rule it out that whether the Gonojagoron Moncho will form a political party or not. If people decide it, the Moncho will certainly go such a way,” Imran said.
Regarding attack on Gonojagoron Moncho, Imran said: “We are analising the matter; we are fixing the strategy that what kind of policies we will take.”
“We are discussing seriously to come out from current situation and mobilize our six-point demands,” he added.
Imran, however, said there were no relation with the attack about forming the political party, according to the Chhanel I report.
No political party is their target; they want to continue their movement with all the party’s aliened to the liberation war, the report added.
The movement of Gonojagoron Moncho started at Shahbagh on February 5, 2013, following the sentence issued by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) of life imprisonment to Quader Mollah.
Later, people from all walks of live including various socio-cultural and political organizations took part in the Shahbagh demonstration.
On Saturday, a faction of the Gonojagoron Moncho “expelled” Imran H Sarker, the spokesperson for Moncho, declaring him “unwanted” in the platform.
Activists of the Shahbagh Ganajagaran Mancha announced to continue their programme until the death sentence of war criminal Abdul Quader Molla and other war crimes convicted were executed.
Following their demand, the government amended the ICT act that finally hanged Abdul Quader Molla to death.
The platform continued their movement demanding the maximum penalty for a person who had been convicted.
On Saturday, ruling party-backed Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League allegedly attacked activists of Gonojagoron Moncho in the capital’s Shahbagh.
Following the incident, both Gonojagoron Moncho and Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command filed separate cases with Shahbagh police station early Friday.
