The High Court has issued an order directing the government to take necessary steps at all international air, land and sea ports and all borders for identification of Ebola virus.
An HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Jahangir Hossain passed the order following a petition filed by SC lawyer Eunus Ali Akond.
The court also directed the respondents to take steps to help or give humanitarian aids to the public health emergency fund of the United Nations.
The High Court also issued a rule asking as to why the respondents should not be ordered to take necessary steps to stop Ebola outbreak in Bangladesh and abroad.
Health secretary, civil aviation and tourism secretary, home secretary, defence secretary, director general of Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention, and director general for health service have been made respondents to the rule.
It also asked the respondents why they should not be directed to help or give humanitarian aids to the public health emergency fund of the United Nations and to the people of abroad those are already infected with Ebola virus.
The respondents have been asked to explain within four weeks.
