The hajj flights that will carry Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year will begin on August 27.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon revealed this while talking to reporters after a meeting on the final preparation for Hajj pilgrims on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Biman, the national flag carrier, and Saudi Airlines will carry the Bangladeshi pilgrims.
Around 1,01,758 pilgrims will perform hajj from Bangladesh this year. Of them 10,000 will go to Saudi Arabia under government management while the rest under private management.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 50 percent of the pilgrims while Saudi Airlines the remaining 50 percent in several phases.
The Hajj flights will continue till September 28. The return Hajj flight will begin on October 8 and continue till November 8.
