GM Quader urges all to not spread rumour over Ershad’s condition
GM Quader, younger brother of Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad, on Monday urged all not to spread rumours over the health condition of Ershad, reports UNB.
“His condition is stable and remains unchanged. But I request all not to spread rumours over his condition, and don’t pay heed to any rumour either,” he said.
GM Quader was briefing reporters over Ershad’s health condition at the Jatiya Party chairman’s Banani office.
“Anyway, he (Ershad) is not out of danger yet,” he said expressing the hope that his condition will improve soon.
Quader also said the physicians at the hospital did not suggest them to take him abroad, and they will follow their advice in this regard.
“Infections in his lungs have eased but infections in kidneys have spread. His overall condition remains unchanged,” he said.
Ershad was given oxygen support as his health condition deteriorated on Sunday.
Briefing reporters at the same office on Sunday evening, Quader, also the party acting chairman, said his brother was given oxygen support due to respiratory problem.
Ershad was admitted to the CMH on Wednesday morning as his condition deteriorated.
The 89-year-old former military ruler has been suffering from various old age complications, including low haemoglobin and liver problem, high bilirubin and serious keen pain.
Ershad was hardly seen in any programme since mid-November last due to his illness and gradually turned inactive in politics.
Once a strongman, Ershad received treatment aboard and at the CMH frequently over the last eight months.
