Gas cylinder blast kills 4 children

At least four children were killed and five people injured in a gas cylinder blast in Rupnagar residential area, Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon, reports news agency UNB.

“The blast took place around 3:40pm when gas was being pumped into balloons by a vendor killing at least four children on the spot,” Dipak Kumar Das, inspector (investigation) of Rupnagar police station said.

He said the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Dipak also said the death toll may go up as the conditions of several of the injured are critical.
