A case was filed against 15 opposition leaders, including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on Sunday in connection with Saturday’s arson attack on a bus in the city’s Malibagh area that left a man dead and four people injured.
Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Ramna zone) Shibly Noman said the case was filed with Ramna Police Station.
The other accused include BNP leaders Sadeq Hossain Khoka , Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, Amanullah Aman, Barkatullah Bulu, Abdus Salam and Salahuddin, Jamaat acting secretary general Dr Shafiqur Rahman, JCD president Jewel Rana, Saiful Alam Nirob and Shibir president Dr Masud.
Habibur Rahman, 32, a resident of Basabo in the city, was killed and four people were injured as a minibus crashed into a rickshaw after a petrol bomb was thrown at it in the city’s Malibagh area on Saturday evening.
Earlier on Friday, a case was filed against 16 opposition leaders, including Fakhrul and Rizvi, with Shahbagh Police Station in connection with Thursday’s arson attack on a bus that left a youth dead and 16 people injured.
