Ekushey Television (ETV) Director Md Zahidul Islam has sued Sir Salimullah Medical College director and four others over assault on journalists.
Taking the complaint into cognisance, a Dhaka court directed the Detective Branch (DB) of Police to investigate the assault on journalists by the doctors of Sir Salimullah Medical College.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Keshab Roy Chowdhury passed the order after hearing a complaint regarding the assault.
Ekushey Television (ETV) Director Md Zahidul Islam filed the complaint against Salimullah Medical College director and four others over assault on journalists.
In its order, the court directed DB to conduct the investigation by an assistant superintendent of police level official.
The court also asked DB to submit the report by May 11.
The accused others are Mohammad Nayeem, Mohammad Soeb, Shawon and Md Shahin – staffs of the college popularly known as Mitford hospital.
On April 19, intern doctors at the college assaulted Ekushey Television reporter Mohammad Elias Hossain and his cameraman Monirul Islam.
