Dhaka University Alumni Association celebrated its 68th founding anniversary with a day-long programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury senate bhaban of the university on Saturday.
The programme started with the national anthem, waving of the national flag and Dhaka University flag, and releasing colourful balloons.
DU vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the programme by cutting a big cake.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at the alumni floor of the senate bhaban.
Professor emeritus Serajul Islam Choudhury, DU Alumni Association president A K Azad , DU pro-vice chancellor (admin) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, former Bangladesh Bank governor Mohammed Farashuddin, eminent economist Prof Rehman Sobhan, media personality Shaikh Siraj, among others, were present.
