Don't vote for corrupt politicians: ACC chief

Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Ghulam Rahman on Monday speaks at a rally in front of the ACC headquarters in the capital after attending an anti-graft procession and human chain for creating mass awareness to fight graft.

Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Ghulam Rahman on Monday urged people not to vote for any corrupt politicians in upcoming parliamentary elections.

“Resist politicians who are involved in corruption so that such corrupt politicians cannot come to power,” he said. “During election, don't vote for any corrupt person.”

He made the comments at a rally in front of the ACC headquarters in the capital after attending an anti-graft procession and human chain for creating mass awareness to fight graft.

“I hope people someday will resist corrupt persons, hate them and take steps so that the corrupt no longer can stay in any kind of power,” said the ACC chief.

Corruption will be eliminated from the society if people do not allow corrupt persons to go to power, he added.

Activists of rights bodies, ACC officials, journalists and civil society members joined the anti-graft procession led by Ghulam Rahman in the morning.
