Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has hoped the political parties in Bangladesh will be ‘considerate enough’ while announce programmes during the ongoing SSC and equivalent examinations.
“I am requesting the political parties not to throw any programmes that might impede the growth of the future generation,” he said after visiting the Azimpur Government Girls’ High School on Sunday.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations under all the 10 secondary boards kicked off across Bangladesh on Sunday, with over 1.3 million students from 27,063 educational institutions taking the tests at 2,758 examination centres.
Meanwhile, the BNP has called for a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions for Monday demanding release of its Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and withdrawal of cases against party leaders.
On Sunday, students under the general, Dakhil and Vocational boards are sitting for their Bengali (compulsory) first paper, Easy Bengali first paper and Bengali Language and Bangladesh Culture first paper respectively.
No test is scheduled for Monday.
This year, the tests will be held with creative questions except in Bengali Second Paper, English first and second papers, Mathematics and Higher Mathematics.
The written examination will end on Mar 5 and practical tests will be completed within Mar 6-12. The Education Ministry has hoped to publish the results within May.
