  1. Well, only time will tell. By the way, during her term as PM during 1996 – 2001 Hasina made a pledge in the parliament that AL will not call any hartal if goes in the opposition. However, Q: what people saw between 2001 and 2006? A: 173 days of Hartal.

  2. President Abdul Hamid who enjoys saying he is ‘prisoned’ in the Bongo Bhavan, finds every excuse to go to S’pore, UK & USA for eye care & other ailments bcz its Govt who pays for it. So much for ‘haor elakar sadharan manush’ !!

So does the PM, so does Gen Ershad, so does K Zia, Mirza Fakhrul, Sadek Khoka, Potol, Suranjeet, and the list goes on.

Air ambulance ? takes 50 lacs cash down just for the ride. And see, how many Thai, S’pore & Malayan hospitals have their offices here in Dhaka to lure patients ??

High time to give a serious thought on this matter.

This small verse costs nothing but it pays much.It is noble, it is great. It will hopefully act as a blessing for the nation because this will create a sense of understanding and good feeling for the health service. The physicians are likely to be more responsible in discharging their jobs and service standard is bound to improve.
More so, the probable changed situation with improved service standard will likely to encourage our high ups to take health service at home instead of going abroad. Let us hope for the best.
