Police have stepped up security at some places in capital Dhaka after the terror attacks in Gulshan and Kishoreganj’s Sholakia in a week.
Additional check-posts were set up at Gulshan, Banani, Tejgaon, Bhatara, Ramna and Baridhara on Saturday.

Bhatara Police Station OC Nurul Mottakin said security in his area had been strengthened after the reports of an attack threat on the Jamuna Future Park began circulating the social media.

Senior Correspondent Sumon Mahbub said police personnel were enquiring about the identities and destinations of people entering and leaving Uttara Sector-3 in the evening.
At Ramna, police set up barricades on streets towards the Ramna Park.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Ramna Zone) Shah Mizan Shafiul Rahman said the barriers were erected after the Gulshan attack on July 1.
One of the four gates of Niketan at Gulshan had been closed, Gulshan Police Station Inspector Salauddin Mia said.
He said at least 15 check-posts had been set up at the entrances to Gulshan.
One Ashraful Islam said police checked his papers when he was travelling in the area.
Police had strengthened security at Dhaka’s diplomatic district, Gulshan, after an Italian had been killed last year.
Some of the residents of the area, however, alleged the security in the area became lax after sometime.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Inspector Md Selim Mia said four check-posts were working in his area during the day and three at night.
He said a police team was tasked with security of the Ahmadiyya mosque at Nakhalparha.
