Bangladesh and Thailand on Saturday signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to expand bilateral relations in agriculture and promote bilateral consultation to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries.
The MoUs were signed following the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The two prime ministers witnessed the signing ceremony.
Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Surapong Tovichakchikul signed the MoU on ‘Establishment of Bilateral Consultations’ which aims at developing and strengthening relations between the two countries.
Agriculture Secretary Monzur Hossain and Permanent Secretary on Agriculture of Thailand Chavalit Chookajorn signed the MoU on ‘Agricultural Cooperation’ for their respective countries.
The MoU aims at expanding areas of cooperation in the fields of agriculture for proper exploitation of potentials and prepare joint programmes in this regard.
