Some 8.8 million doses of Covid vaccines are currently in stock, says DGHS
Health authorities in Bangladesh have administered a total of 35,456,505 doses of Covid-19 vaccines out of 44,315,080 doses the country has received so far.
Of the dispensed jabs, 21,324,018 people received their first shot and 14,131,887 got their second shot as of Tuesday, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release.
At the moment, it said, 8,858,575 doses of vaccines are in the country’s stock.
Bangladesh is currently administering four types of Covid–19 vaccines – AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Sinopharm – for its inoculation campaign.

So far, 41,616,667 people have signed up to get the vaccine, says DGHS.
As many as 12,381,138 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been administered around the country so far. On Tuesday, 23,838 people received their first AstraZeneca jab and 2,044 got their second dose.
As no Pfizer vaccine was administered on Tuesday, the total remains 100,311.
On the other hand, a total of 18,092,665 Sinopharm doses have been administered around the country so far. On Tuesday alone, 160,965 and 87,515 people received their first and second doses, respectively.
In Moderna’s case, a total of 4,881,791 people have been given the vaccine so far. On Tuesday, no one was given the first jab but 22,504 received their second doses.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 35 more Covid-19 deaths between Monday and Tuesday mornings, taking the death toll to 27,007.
The caseload also jumped by 2,074 during the same 24-hour period, taking the total to 1,534,440 across the country.
