CID Special Superintendent Abdul Kahhar Akand told bdnews24.com on Monday that the evidence was found through a DNA test.
A second post-mortem examination of Tonu has also been held following a court order after the first autopsy found no evidence of rape.
The second report is pending, Akand said.
CID Special Superintendent for Comilla and Noakhali Nazmul Karim Khan also confirmed bdnews24.com that seminal fluid of ‘several’ persons were found in the DNA test.
After 19-year old Tonu’s body was found near her house in Comilla Cantonment on Mar 20, police said they suspected she had been raped.
The case was transferred to CID after the Detective Branch.
Those protesting the murder in the cantonment have alleged there is a plot to cover up the case as no suspect has been identified yet.
The Army has pledged all sorts of help in the investigation.
Tonu’s parents have recently demanded grilling of two Army personnel to solve the case.
