A bus was set on fire after it ran over a 12-year-old boy in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka this afternoon.
The deceased is Fahim, hailed from Gazipur.
He along with his family came to Dhaka to visit his maternal grandfather’s house at Hajaribagh.
According to police, a bus hit Fahim near Anwer Khan Medical College Hospital around 1:30pm. His mother and brother were with him when the accident occurred.
Fahim was brought dead at the hospital around 1:40pm, hospital sources said.
Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Agitated people set the bus on fire soon after the accident while police picked up the bus driver, Delwar, from the scene, said Noor-a-Azam Mia, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station.
