Bodies of two Bangladeshis, who were shot to death allegedly by India’s Border Security Force at Naogaon and Lalmonirhat borders, were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh on Wednesday.
The body of a Bangladeshi farmer, who was killed allegedly by BSF along the Nitpur border in Porsha upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday, was handed over to the BGB on Wednesday night.
BSF members handed over the body of Al Amin through 236 main pillars of the bordering area at Hapania around 10 pm after a flag meeting between the border forces of Bangladesh and India, said Subedar Mahfuzur Rahman of Nitpur BGB camp.
Public representatives and police officers of Porsha Police Station were also present there.
On March 26, Al Amin was shot dead when the BSF members from Mil Mari of Malda district in India opened fire on him along Nitpur border area in Porsha upazila.
The body of another Bangladesh national, Liton Mia, 20, who was shot by the BSF near border pillar number 923 of Dighaltari border of Durgapur union under Aditmari upazila on early Tuesday and later died at a hospital in Koch Bihar on Tuesday night, was handed over to the BGB on Wednesday night.
15-BGB battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Mofazzal Hossain Akand told New Age that a flag meeting was held between the officials of BSF and BGB in the bordering area on Wednesday night and the Indian force handed over the body of Liton to the BGB after the meeting.
