Bomb blast rocks Tureen Afroz’s house

A bomb exploded at the house of International Crimes Tribunal prosecutor Tureen Afroz at Dhaka’s Uttara on Sunday night amid the Opposition enforced 60-hour nationwide shutdown.

Afroz told bdnews24.com that the blast left a policemen guarding the house injured.

But she was not injured.

“I was walking on the front yard of my house. The homemade bomb was thrown from outside the main gate,” she said.

Uttara (West) Police Station OC Khandaker Rezaur Hasan told bdnews24.com the explosion had taken place around 8:45pm but could not confirm the casualty.

Bombs also exploded at the residence of Appellate Division’s Justice SK Sinha on Saturday.

Sinha is a member of the Appellate Division bench which gave death sentence to Abdul Quader Molla, senior leader of the BNP’s key ally Jamaat-e-Islami.
