The Russian ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexander A Nikolaev, on Sunday said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party supports construction of nuclear power plant at Rooppur of Pabna with Russian assistance.
The ambassador made the remarks at DCAB Talks organised by Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association of Bangladesh at National Press Club.
Nikolaev said he had met the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and she told him that her party supports construction of the nuclear power plant.
The BNP chief also informed that the idea of constructing nuclear power plant was initiated during BNP’s regime, Nikolaev added.
