Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said BNP wants to sit in a dialogue with the government despite terming it ‘illegal’.
The minister said this while visiting an awareness campaign by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Savar.
Referring to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s remarks to a delegation of European Union that the party is ready for dialogue anytime, Obaidul Quader said it seems BNP is showing interest in a legal dialogue with an illegal government.
He also noted that BNP has abstained from making any comment about the budget bill for the fiscal 2014-2015 because they consider the present government ‘illegal’.
The minister questioned how could a party seeks a legal dialogue with a government which it termed illegal.
Local MP Dr Enamur Rahman, UNO Kamrul Hasan were present on the occasion.
