BNP has called a daylong hartal in Dhaka district for Wednesday demanding release of its joint secretaries general Amanullah Aman and Salauddin Ahmed.
The capital city, however, would remain out of the hartal purview, said Shamsuzzaman Dudu, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, on Tuesday evening.
Aman was arrested along with over 150 opposition leaders and activists from BNP headquarters on March 11. He was granted bail in all cases on Tuesday but police have shown him arrested in another case.
Law enforcers picked up Salauddin on April 8 and implicated him in four criminal cases. He secured bail in all four cases and walked out of jail on May 16. But police arrested him again at the jail and shown him arrested in other cases.
