BNP today alleged that the government is blaming the party for the murder of two foreigners without any proof in a bid to hide its failure.
BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a statement also said the government without any fair probe is blaming the opposition party for some of the recent killings to divert national and international attention to a different direction.
“We have been observing with great surprise and anger that the government has been carrying out a false campaign involving BNP with the brutal killing of an Italian and Japanese nationals without any fair investigation,” Fakhrul said.
Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio was shot dead in Rangpur on October 3, five days after the killing of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
Fakhrul said BNP leaders and activists are being arrested and implicated in false cases out of the government’s political motive to suppress the opposition.
The BNP leader voiced concern that a ‘false’ case was filed against their party’s standing committee member Tariqul Islam and over a hundred party leaders and activists in Jessore.
