Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said the BNP has accepted the government by participating in the upazila parishad polls.
He said: “Although they are participating in the upazila polls, their decision of not taking part in the national election was unwise. They are now realizing it.”
He made the statements while inaugurating Habiganj Industrial Park of Pran-RFL group in Aliganj on Friday afternoon.
Regarding the issue of corruption, the minister said: “Punishment is not enough for the offenders. Procedural development is necessary to make the system corruption free.”
Appreciating Pran-RFL group’s efforts in industrial development in the rural areas, Muhith said: “I feel glad whenever I see the products of Pran are hitting markets in foreign countries. It will enhance the economic growth.”
Among others, Pran -RFL chairman lieutenant colonel (retd.) Mahtab Hossain, former minister Enamul Haque Mostofa Shaheed, Md Abu Jahir MP, Md Mahbub Ali MP and deputy commissioner Md Jainal Abedin, were present in the ceremony with Pran-RFL chief executive Major General (retd) Amzad Khan Chowdhury in the chair.
Later, the minister visited different sections of the industrial park.
